Karma[/glow]
o.k. Really fast go look at your profile. It HAS to be yours. Look at the last thing under the column beneath your name. It's the thing right below your loation. See that number? Well thats the amount of karma you have.
Karma is gained by (look over at where the karma would be under MY name. You'll notice it says exalt/smite right? Well everytime someone clicks Exalt I get one Karma. for every time someone clicks smite I lose one.
You can give karma out for various things. It can be for something as simple as making an apprentice for a character of yours.
Karma can also be used in agreements for example I could say I will give thirty karma to the first person to PM me happy birthday on my brithday and whoever did I would click 'exalt' thirty times to give them thirty karma.
You also can ask for karma. You can offer things like important characters to the highest bidder- kinda like at an auction. set a date for the end and people can PM you there bids.
Now of course there are catches depending on what JHutch thinks. You might only be able to give away as much Karma as you have- meaning if you only have two karma you can't agree to give thirty.
Sometimes karma is used to determine the member of the month on sites, sometimes it is just there for the fun of it but whatever the reason you should always be fair when giving or taking it. do not give it excessively for one thing- that thirty karma thing was just an example- but the point is that you shouldn't be mean or act too competively or else you might lose the previlage of having it!
[glow=red,2,300]Tags[/glow]
I bet you noticed that cool thing I did with the word karma up there. now we will discuss those little buttons that are called tags.
Tags are the 28 grayish-brown buttons you see above the smilies when you go to make a thread.
The first one is a B that is in bold font. I bet you can guess what it's for. Right to make the words bold! if you want something bold highlight it and click the botton. You'll see one of these

(just the b's and brakets not the whole 'code' thing appear on each end. Only the text between these two b's will be bold.
Now you will see a slanted 'I' this is the italics button it slants your words usually meaning a word with high emotion behind it or a thought that isn't spoken. You use it the same as the bold tag. Highlight ONLY the text you want italicized and click the button. These will appear-

- and anything between them will be italicized after you hit 'make thread'
Now you can see an underlined U I'm pretty sure you get that this means underlined. Again you highlight the desired text and click the button.

will appear and the test will be underlined once it is posted.
YOur starting to get the pattern right? I am now going to post a one word example of each of the tags we have done so far:
BOLD!Italicized!Underlined!Bold and Italicized!Bold and Underlined! Italized and Underlined!
All three!I bet you want to know how i did the two and three at a time. Well highlight the words that you want and click all the buttons you want to. Try this by posting a response below it doesn't have to be too fancy just so we know you understand! the remaining tags we will discuss later on!
(btw the smiles work the same way. Have your cursor where you want the the smilie to be and click it)
;D
Alright, now we will discuss more tags, in order to understand how these word, read the first part of this ('Karma and Tags') first.
The one after the underlining tag is the strickout tag. Words will appear like this:
Strikewith
[s][/s]
around them. This is commonly used when admins have a list of things needing done and someone takes care of one, the item is struck out
After the Strikeout theres a G with a green hightlight. This is the fun one. It makes words have a glow or highlight
[glow=red,2,300]glow[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300][/glow]
for more fun, change the color or number
For instance:
[glow=green,5,000]Glow[/glow] green-5,000
[glow=purple,3,000]Glow[/glow] purple-2,000
[glow=blue,7,000]Glow[/glow] blue-7,000
[glow=yellow,10,000]Glow[/glow] yellow-10,000
[glow=red,9,000]Glow[/glow] red-9,000
[glow=pink,12,300]Glow[/glow] pink-12,300
[glow=orange,1,000]Glow[/glow] orange-1,000
remember:
There has to be a comma between the color and number
The number must have a comma if there are more then three digits
the color cannot be capitalized.
After the glow theres a D with a shadow. This is the shadow tag. Use it to shadow words:
[shadow=red,left,300]shadow[/shadow]
[shadow=red,left,300][/shadow]
Once again you can change the number and color, but also you can change direction- left or right
[shadow=blue,right,600]Shadow[/shadow] blue-right-400
It is better to do the shadow or glow AS WELL AS bold. this will make the words show up better.
For moving words like:
use:
[move][/move]
To change the size of words, use the thirteenth button on the top row. (the A with the double arrow). This can change the size.
BIG (size nine)
small (size one)

Change the number to change the size...
Bigger? size 17
After the size button comes the font button This can change the font.
Font
Font
Not sure how many fonts there are...
After the font button, theres a text box with the word 'colors' in it. Use it the same as the other buttons.
Colors:
Black,
Red,
Yellow,
Pink,
Green,
Orange,
Purple,
Blue,
Beige,
Brown,
Teal,
Navy,
Maroon,
Lime GreenBlack,
Red,
Yellow,
Pink,
Green,
Orange,
Purple,
Blue,
Beige,
Brown,
Teal,
Navy,
Maroon,
Lime Green
Alright, the fourth button in the second row is probably JHutchs personal favorite. The picture button. Stick the URL of any picture into these:
[img][/img]
and most show up as pictures.. some don't work and we aren't sure why, but most do.
Alright, the twelth on the bottom row is the last one I'll do. It's the code tag.. it'll make those boxes in which NO tag works.

Have fun!
