General Forum Rules From left to right, every nook and crany to be revealed |

- Respect everyone; no exceptions. I strongly believe that everyone deserves an equal amount of respect, and will do my best to enforce this. If any one of us staffers discovers (and we will: you can take that to the bank) that anyone has been disrespecting others, they'll get a hefty smacking around, and possibly some serious bodily damage (read suspension/banning).
- Before you may start role playing, you must first create a character. Yeah, that sounds easy. Well, there's quite a bit to fill out, not to mention that you have to meet our standards, to say nothing of registering your character (powers, pets, that sort of thing).
- You may only have one character per account. Yes, I know, some people do not enjoy that, and would prefer to have all their characters on one account. I am sorry to say, then, that becuase each character requires so much information, you must put them in one account. No exceptions.
Well, there might be an exception, like, if you have a second being that lives on you (a head imbedded in your flesh) or something like that. However, this is going to be a very rare (like never) occurance, so don't let it get to your heads. Staff, you are not exempt from this rule, and any attempts to flaunt this rule with be met with stiff reprecussions.
- You may have as many characters as you can keep up with. However, because, and I'm not saying it's any of you, there are some people out there that will just create characters, and then do nothing with them. Unacceptable. So, in an effort to curtail this such occurance, there is going to be a requirement of at least fifteen (15) role playing posts (yes, that means that they have to be actually role playing posts, darlings; no playing games or participating in chats)
- Each account created must have the First and Last names of the character in the profile. There are no exceptions, save for the vampires;; because of their culture, they only have one name.
- You must remain active. That means getting on and posting at least two times a week. Actual RP posting, dears. Failure to do so will lead in deletion.
What does not constitute as as role playing is logging on, checking your personal mail, maybe replying to a chat, posting a comment in the chat box, and then leaving. Nope, sorry, it doesn't work that way.
- Do not take something from a post seriously. This means if a fight between characters occurs in a post, don't make it personal and bring it to OOC.
Likewise for OOC to IC. If you are fueding with someone in the out of character world, please do not bring it into the in character world.
- Use dizzy for secret words on your character application.
- A signature is mandatory. Signature images should be no larger than 500x500. Your signature should depict your character, and should not show nude people, or other innappropriate things. Use your common sense, man. If something is really not appropriate, then don't use it.
If an admin finds that your signature is innappropriate, you will be asked to change it. If you need help getting a signature, don't hesitate to venture into the Art Studio: there are quite a few very talented people there who love making graphics for others.
- An avatar is mandatory. Avatars should be no larger than 100x100. And, everything else that was stated for the signature applies here.
- Use 'night' to enter the Night's Genesis board.
- Have fun, please. We put a lot of hard work into this site and want people to have fun. =)

In Character Rules When you play your character you must also play it safe |
- No power-playing. Power-playing [heretofore referred to as PP] is, essentially, controlling other people's characters. You cannot control another person's character through their actions or words. Don't try please.
There are (in my experiance) three types of PP: mild, moderate, and severe.
Mild: Tooke Winde: *conronts Sandtiger with a squad of men.* "Surrender now!" Sandtiger: "Never!" and knocks out two of the men that had tried to capture him. What's wrong with this in that the men are NC's (nonplayable characters), and they are the fictional creation of Tooke Winde. This means that Tooke Winde is the only role playable character with the power to PP the squad of men. Sandtiger overstepped his boundaries when he "knocked out" two of the soldiers. They were not his to control.
Moderate: Lola: "Begone!" Begins to walk away. Antonio: "No." Grabs Lola's wrist, yanks her to him, and smothers all protests with his kiss. Lola: Knees Antonio in the crotch and runs away. In this PP, both Lola and Antonio are in the wrong. Antonio started it. In the first place, he should have stated that he was making a grab for Lola's wrist; this would have given Lola the choice of whether or not the wrist was grabbed. The yanking wasn't too bad, as the action of "being yanked to[wards] him" gives Lola the opportunity to resist being yanked. It gets a little hairy when Antonio "smothers all protests with his kiss." He assumes that Lola will protest (well, duh, but still) and that he actually is able to get his lips on hers and kiss Lola, and that Lola does not protest. Lola, thus having been a good girl, commits her first power play when she "knees Antonio in the crotch." In the first place, Antonio was not given the option of defend himself (I know how defensive males are about that area). In the second place, she assumes that he will let go of her (she would be right, but it is still wrong).
Severe: Teeka:Opens the door and walks into the room. "I'm home!" Lucas: Watches Teeka come in. He takes in her discheveled appearance, and notes the small frown on her face. As she walks past the couch he sits on, she refuses to look at him. A few paces more, and she steps into the kitchen, leaving him behind. This is the type of PP that i hate the most. It shows complete lack of regard for the other member, and serves as a means to your own end. I think it is blatantly obvious as to why it is wrong, and so shall thus not go into the specifics.
I've noticed that power playing is used most often in fights, and I have only one thing to say to you: watch yourself, or you just might be getting a visit from Death.
- No god-moding. The only gods on here are the deities created purely for plot purposes. Anyone giving his/her character god-like powers shall be smiten by the admins. So no, your character cannot avoid every blow. Your character cannot come out of a fight unscathed. Certain boundaries apply. A character with lesser powers is obviously not going to have as much skill or power as a master or dominant; don't make it seem like your meager little warrior has a chance against a stronger rank.
- All RP posts should be in third person. No first person!
- Good grammar, punctuation, and capitalization are mandatory. There shouldn't be any misspelled words in your posts. If a dotted red line appears underneath something you typed, it's misspelled. Right-click and it'll give you the correct spelling of the word you were aiming for, along with a few other suggestions.
- The word minimum on posts is going to be 100, and don't whine because of it. If you put enough thought into it, you can come up with a perfectly presentable post with 100+ words. We actually prefer that you do at least 300+ words, but we know that some of you are not up to that.
Absolutely no ONE LINERS. I kid you not, if any one of the staff members finds a one liner, the post will be summarily, without hesistation and without warning, deleted. A warning point will be added to your profile, and an admin will prompt you to attend the Role Playing School.
- No Mary Sues or Gary Stews. Meaning, your characters are not perfect, beautiful, and get along with everyone. I mean, come on, we want this RPG to be as realistic as possible (no small feat, to be sure, when you've got vampires and werewolves and who-knows-what-else running about), which means that, just as in real life, no one is perfect.
- Cursing is accepted, but not excessively. Keep it to a minimum. If you offend someone, be prepared to answer to an admin. Those who get offended, be aware that, if the admin is okay with what was posted, then you're complaint, while noted, will go unheeded.
- Use cookie as your second secret word.
- If a fight is going to get gory, make a note of it in the post title so those with a sensitive stomach can steer away from literary picture.
- Abbreviations will not be tolerated. This means spell out numbers, no chat speak, etc. Chat speak in character is something that I detest very much. The offending members will be asked to correct their grammar, and if they fail to do so in the allotted time given them (usually three days) the post will be deleted, and the member will be asked to attend to Spelling and Grammar school.
- Remember to put dialogue in quotes ("). If you do not, you'll be given a warning and your post will be edited. Sometimes, it helps if you put the dialgue in bold, or colors, as well, but this is not required.
- No double posting. If you need to add or get rid of something, please modify your last post. Surely you are not that lazy?
